Samsung Electronics and affiliate Samsung Electro-Mechanics have agreed to team up in creating a joint venture that will create light-emitting diodes. The company, initially called Samsung LED, will be launched this April.Just last year, the global LED industry raked in $22 billion, and is expected to grow further in the coming years. These diodes are also considered environment-friendly and longer-lasting that their fluorescent counterparts.
