About 140,000 existing streetlights will be replaced in a five-year project in the Los Angeles. The funding would come from former president Bill Clinton's charitable foundation. The LED streetlights would cut the power usage of the current streetlights to about 40 percent that could save $48 million in the first 7 years and $10 a year succeeding.
