Whenever a new technology hits the market, the price tab is usually high. Principally due to the high cost of development and installation of new manufacturing facilities. Afterwards, with the initial finances settled and (usually) the arrival of competitors on the market (after patents elapse), the situation and prices settle down. Just so with LED lights, the economic substitute to the traditional common light bulb with the filament. LED has no filament to burn out and consume much less energy to operate. Plus the prices are falling drastically. Itīs a good move to start using these new lights!
